Sciency was a free educational STEM platform (think of Khan Academy but hyperfocused to a very specifc group of students). It's aim was to rescue those students impacted by the difficulties COVID-19 created by bridging learning gaps.

 

I developed comprehensive Math and Science content including notes, personalized learning gaps, doubt clearing and strategy sessions, an.  organized all resources into one place. Free of cost.

Being a founder was also like being a Data Scientist: 

1. Google Analytics and A/B Testing:

- While I didn't know it was formally called an A/B test, I ran over 50 controlled experiments to optimize elements on high performing pages. It taught me the important of Call to Action buttons, performance metrics, and how to iterate and iterate and iterate.

2. User Research:

- Surveys, video interviews, and reddit user discussions really helped me understand how students engaged with educational content. 

3. Leadership:

- I lead a team of 15 students all working at different things about the website. I developed the skills of managing multiple personalities and schedules, making strategic decisions, and being an effective communicator.
